Orolia Government Systems is recruiting a Principal Navigation Engineer to be responsible for maintaining the Orolia FlexFusion Navigation Sensor Fusion Algorithm and responsible for integrating new sensors such as GPS/GNSS, IMUs, Vision Systems, RF Ranging, Vehicle Sensors and other signals of opportunity into the algorithm. What you'll be doing as a Principal Navigation Engineer...
The Principal Navigation Engineer will be a key member and Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a cross-functional engineering team to support product development and new business opportunities. They are also responsible to understand the principles of state of the art Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods, their implementations in our products, and to help guide the organization for future growth. The ideal candidate will be a MATLAB expert with prior experience successfully developing a Navigation Kalman Filter and deploying on an embedded hardware platform. This is an applied technology role, and not a pure research role, so an ideal candidate will be able to translate theory into commercially viable products and solutions.
Responsibilities will include:
Maintain the Orolia FlexFusion architecture, MATLAB models, and embedded software for current and future navigation solutions; assess the most suitable solutions, and bring in all available in-house and external ideas and skills.
Apply technologies in multi-sensor fusion to be used in resilient PNT solutions embedded in professional/military UAVs payloads or in an y military vehicle.
Apply technologies to generate GNSS and Signal of Opportunity to be used in the most scalable and comprehensive resilient PNT test platform on the market.
Lead engineers and product development teams to design, develop and qualify new PNT products and solutions.
Interface with customers and research program sponsors to understand their needs and work in conjunction with the Product Managers to convince about the quality, innovation and value of the PNT solutions in both pre and post-sales situations.
Master Degree in Aerospace, Controls, or Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics with 5+ years Control or Navigation Systems experience
PhD in Control or Navigation Engineering with 3+ years Control or Navigation Systems experience is highly preferred
Documented active US Government Security Clearance at the Secret level or higher highly preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Navigation solution design and implementation
Modeling and estimation/Kalman filtering experience
Sensor fusion and PNT experience
Expert in MATLAB/Simulink tools and knowledgeable in image processing (pattern recognition, GPU programing, etc.)
GPS electronics integration
Inertial sensor integration
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Positive attitude and ability to engage and influence
Ability to effectively and collaboratively lead a team with agility.
Ability to learn, progress and maintain knowledge base of state of the art technologies.
